About Us
Our quaint fishing village, Little River, SC, offers a quiet alternative to the bustle of everyday life. We have a mild year-round climate perfect for golf and outdoor activities, as well as festivals and events that invite visitors to return year after year; many choose to make it their home.
Indian tribes called the harbour “Mineola” meaning “little river.” Fishermen and farmers arrived in the late 1600’s, making Little River the first village settled in Horry County. Shipwreck survivors and pirates used the harbour for rest and repairs. Captain Kidd, Blackbeard, and Ann Bonney are all part of local lore! George Washington dined in Little River in 1791 on his Southern tour.
Located on the Intracoastal Waterway, Little River is known for its deep-sea fishing, charter boats and commercial fishing. The Blue Crab Festival and The Shrimp and Jazz Fest bring thousands of visitors to enjoy the family-oriented events. Little River is a fantastic place to dine, shop, fish, golf or just to visit…there is something here for everyone!
